Real-Time Graphics That Keep Pace with Every Play
We were asked by CBS Sports and TNT Sports to deliver Augmented Reality (AR) graphics for the culmination of March Madness, the NCAA Final Four. With creative supplied by CBS and TNT, our team delivered bold, real-time graphics that elevated the energy of college basketball’s biggest stage, even bringing the studio floor to life. Combining precision tracking using both Skycam and Jib cameras, they delivered narrative driven AR graphics to enhance the story of the championships.

Real-Time Studio Control & Reactive Broadcast Support
To maximise the flexibility of the augmented reality studio environment, AE Live developed a comprehensive real-time control system that enabled operators to make live adjustments to AR elements throughout the broadcast. These controls allowed the production team to fine-tune positioning, animation timing, lighting, and scene transitions on the fly, ensuring every graphic integrated seamlessly with the fast-paced studio and game productions.
Key capabilities include:
Deep Real-time control interface for dynamic AR scene adjustments
Flexible positioning, animation, and visual refinement during live broadcasts
Remote standby support team providing rapid graphic updates throughout the event
Fast-turnaround implementation of special-event graphics and editorial requests
Seamless collaboration between on-site operators and off-site Unreal Engine artists
This workflow gave CBS and TNT the flexibility to respond instantly to developing storylines and memorable tournament moments, ensuring the broadcast remained timely, polished, and visually engaging from tip-off through the championship celebrations.
