The Role.

We are looking for a highly organized, collaborative, and technically proficient Virtual and Broadcast Engineer to join our dynamic and growing US team, serving both AE Live and Silver Spoon.

The Engineering team supports and maintains our various broadcast and production facilities and services. We’re looking for someone who can work behind the scenes supporting our virtual studio operations, remote on-site installs, builds and troubleshooting. From facility rentals, tech support, troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs from simple to complex computer systems. This is a technology driven position. Whilst part of our Engineering team, you will be able to work alone with minimal supervision to operate, customize, maintain and troubleshoot everything from low to high voltage to systems, to general issues. Solid computer networking skills quickly configuring and troubleshooting are required with the ability to work on-the-fly to effectively execute and support client requests.

The role will be primarily based at our studio facility in Secaucus NJ and is contracted for 40hrs per week. Due to the nature of this role, our business and the events we are contracted for, a moderate level of flexibility is required including domestic travel and irregular hours, days and working some holidays.

From broadcast graphics delivery, cutting-edge virtual production and award-winning graphic design, there’s a wide variety of exciting diverse projects ahead.

Your Role Accountabilities.
  • Provision and maintenance of broadcast and production equipment at our Secaucus HQ and on-location for the delivery of services across AE Live Group companies in the US.
  • Installations and integrations of graphic systems for Unreal Engine virtual productions and ‘core’ clock, score and insert graphic provision.
  • Installation and integration of our graphic systems into OB, PCR, Studio and Server Rooms.
  • Support technical setups, testing, client demos, troubleshooting of various systems including but not limited to computer hardware, networking, IT, SDI and video.
  • Inventory asset tracking of AE Live Group property.
  • Equipment builds, racking, packing, shipping, unpacking and tracking.
  • Cabling, runs, terminating, rack builds, labelling and general clean cable management.
  • General maintenance of equipment and cases.
  • Configuration of internet, Wi-Fi, networking, firewalls and VLAN.

Qualifications & Experience.
  • 5+ years of equivalent professional experience in the broadcast engineering field, ideally at a network, production, transmission, outside broadcast or graphics company.
  • Broadcast video production engineering experience – from remote production to studio transmissions.
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting complex video/audio workflows and signal flows between platforms and across formats.
  • Strong IP skills configuring and troubleshooting networks.
  • Detailed knowledge of graphics systems (Vizrt, Chryon Prime, Ross Xpression, Unreal Engine).
  • Understanding of virtual production methods and technologies (Stype, Pixotope, Erizos, Stage Precision, Brainstorm,Mo-Sys).
  • Knowledge or familiarity of the following:
    • SCTE,GPI and 2-Wire Tally Systems
    • HD-SDI patching and A/V signal routers
    • Blackmagic, AJA, Matrox, Sony, Panasonic, Evertz systems
    • Audio and lighting basics, ideally with advanced systems (Dante, DMX)
    • Rigging and OSHA safety
    • Fiber terminating, cleaning and troubleshooting
    • Router systems, reference, KVMs and intercom
    • Storage systems
    • LED panels and video wall builds, configs, repairs and maintenance
  • Proven aptitude for quick project solving, critical thinking, anticipating consequences, eliminating obstacles and decision-making in a fast-paced environment with demanding deadlines.
  • A commitment to high-quality work and to maintaining positive and productive relationships with team members, peers, managers, and clients.
  • Excellent verbal communication with strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to self-manage, working autonomously when required.
  • The legal right to live and work in the United States is non-negotiable and this role will be based in Secaucus, New Jersey with no relocation being offered.

  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs, able to safely use ladders and scissor lifts.

  • Quickly able to think both inside and outside of traditional broadcast and graphic workflows.
  • Proactive with the ability to conceptualize complex workflows.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook.

In accordance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, location, skill set, experience and/or performance. Pay range: $100,000 –$120,000 salary per year.
